Fall Adventures: FREE Story Time at The Rye Patch 2024!
It’s one our
favorite times of the year…
Fall Story
Time on the grounds of Rye Patch. A free event. It’s held every Tuesday at
4:00 PM during September + October. There are reading adventures every
Tuesday. Every family in attendance receives a “free book” to take home to
encourage a lifetime love of reading.
We are
excited to announce a special Halloween Story Time on October 29th
at 4:00 PM we will be sponsoring. Do not miss out on your special Aiken Homes
treats!

Extra! Extra! Discover What's New At Aiken Towne Park
We're here
at the latest business to open in Aiken Towne Park: Tropical Smoothie! This is
my first time trying it out. Who else loves Tropical Smoothie? Comment below
and share your favorite smoothie! Tropical Smoothie offers more than just
smoothies—they have meals too.
Exciting
news: Melty is coming to Aiken, SC! And soon, they'll be opening in North
Augusta as well. Melty specializes in grilled cheeses, but these aren't your
everyday grilled cheeses. Who has been to Melty before? Please comment below
and share your experience! I also read online that they have gluten-free
options, which is fantastic news for those of us who need them. It can be a
struggle to find good gluten-free choices.
As you can
see, an eyewear company is the next business set to open here. You can also
notice the construction of other storefronts.
Construction
on a walking track is already underway, and I've heard there's going to be an
amphitheater or pavilion for events. In the future, there will be more than 250
apartments, a hotel, and dozens of new shopping options and restaurants.

Home Buyers: 3 Must-Know Steps In The Wake Of The NAR Settlement
Today, we're diving into the
essential steps buyers need to take before viewing any property, especially
considering recent changes by the National Association of Realtors® [NAR® for short] that impact
all buyers and sellers.
Step 1: Familiarize Yourself with
the New NAR® Rules
Did you know a REALTOR® working with a buyer
cannot show a property without a clear written agreement between the agent and
buyer before touring a home [physically or virtually]?
Due to the NAR® settlement, our local
MLS has implemented large fines for its members if recent changes are not
followed. You need to understand how your chosen buyer’s agent can represent
you. For example, do you want customer or client-level services?

Also, discuss who will be
compensating your real estate agent. It’s very important to talk about this
before viewing properties.
This should be clearly defined in
the written agreement between you and your REALTOR®. There are real estate fees the buyer will be
responsible for paying. Negotiating the cost of them with the seller could be
an option if there is no cooperative fee being offered on the property of
interest.

Lowes Foods
of Aiken is officially open! Everyone has been anxiously waiting, especially my
husband Scott, who absolutely loves grocery shopping.
Buuuut is it
worth the wait and hype? YES! [our opinion]
Lowes Foods
brings a fresh, new concept to Aiken. I love how it tailors its stores to the
community, adding a personal touch and fostering a sense of togetherness.
During my visit, it felt more like a destination than just a grocery store with all it offers. Their mission statement sums it up perfectly: "Lowes Foods sets out to break the mold of the standard supermarket and create a distinctive grocery shopping experience worthy of our Carolina roots."
