Support Local: Shops on Park Ave. Aiken, SC

Missing something? Historic Downtown Aiken offers a lot great shops, there is a lot foot traffic on Laurens Street but there are some cool businesses you might be missing out on. Let’s take a walk together on Park Ave heading towards the Aiken Train Depot on Union Street.

One my favorite finds is Tumbleweed. Tumbleweed is where western meets boho chic with a dab of vintage taste. There are some exciting leather, goods and boots. Let’s see Joel will show us around. They also offer hat cleaning and shaping!

Tumbleweed

216 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801

Here’s a neat looking candle shoppe we need to check out soon.

Iron Gate Candles & Co.

368 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801

Not far down is another interesting shop; especially if you are into playing music.

In fact, it is the only music store in Aiken and originally opened in 2005.

I heard local artists and music lovers come here to jam together. Want to peek inside? Let’s go!

Vintage Music Store

318 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC, 29801

Now that they were found maybe check out all these local businesses. The heart of any community is locally owned businesses and we love to support local!

Other than “Affordability” and “Low Real Estate Taxes. This small town has a contagious community spirit to quote a “Southern Living” article and listed as one of the BEST small towns. Here are 7 reasons why Aiken could be the right place for you.

Horse Culture

Equestrian activities attract a lot of people. It makes Aiken charming, diverse, and unique.           Even if you do not ride or own a horse; people love to watch many of the horse events and         activities. It brings a smile to your face seeing all the beautiful horses and farms located here      in Aiken.

Golf and Outdoor Sports

Avid Golfer? We are here at THE Aiken Golf Club established in 1912, it’s an Aiken landmark.                    Golf is widespread here and the weather allows you to play year-round. There are 18 courses                 within a 15-mile radius of Aiken, 8 of which are public courses and 7 are private courses                             according to Aiken Digest and there are more in the making.

We love traveling with our dogs and Aiken is one the most dog friendly places based on my experiences. There are numerous places you are allowed to walk your fur babies. Hitchcock woods, Audubon Sanctuary, state, and local parks. Lots of stores and restaurants allow your pups to either shop or dine with you too.

All within a 2–3-hour drive you can explore beaches, mountains, and big city lifestyle. You have the best of both worlds, the quaint laid-back small town feeling and an easy drive to major urban city life. Airports are in Columbia, SC and Augusta Georgia within 45 minutes.
