Its hard not to love this time of year; the cool crisp morning air then typically warming up with blue skies. The fall foliage is gorgeous everywhere.

 

There are 3 fall events we wanted to remind you about. If you’re not local, this might be the perfect reason for a visit to Aiken, South Carolina.

 

Right now, Downtown Aiken is fully decorated in its fall theme. There are variety of very creative, humorous, and entertaining scarecrows proudly displayed.  Let’s check out some of them. You can come to see all the scarecrows; they are on Laurens Street, Park Ave and the Alley. It makes for a fun fall walk.

Why attend? Aiken's Fall Championship is a wonderful way to spend a day seeing the horses fly, spending time with friends, and enjoying the beautiful Aiken weather while tailgating! If that’s not enough reason to attend not sure what would be. This is interesting to note Aiken is the host of the National Steeplechase Association's final race of the season! The Aiken Fall Steeplechase Championship will determine the top trainer, rider, and horse of the year.

Don’t miss out on one of the locals’ favorite fall events.

 

Thanksgiving Day favorites are “Bloodies and Bagels” and “Blessing of the Hounds” which opens the hunt season in Hitchcock Woods and is held on November 23^rd. Starting at 9:30am you can get your Bloodies and Bagels at the Aiken County Historical Museum. Then at 11am make your way to Hitchcock Woods at the South Boundary Entrance. If this is new to you just follow the crowd, horses and all the pups they will get you there!
